Dadra & Nagar Haveli Tourist Guide

Compiled by two separate geographical units, surrounded by Maharashtra & Gujarat and having Silvassa as its capital, Dadra & Nagar Haveli is a small Union Territory in Western India. Being a Portuguese Colony for almost 150 years (Before getting fully liberated in 1954), their influence is profoundly visible in the Architecture and Demography. This place, being declared as Union Territory in the year 1961, is spread across an area of 491 sq. Km and is renowned for its Historic Churches, Holy temples, enriched museums, lush green hills, undulating meadows, and native-styled cottages. Vanganga Lake, Himai Van Health resort, Satmalia Wildlife Sanctuary, Vasona Lion Safari and Kauncha Tribal Village are some of the must visit spots for tour enthusiasts.

Road:
Silvassa, the capital city of Dadra & Nagar Haveli is at a distance of 180 kms from Mumbai and is connected via NH-8. Nashik (Maharashtra) and Surat (Gujarat) are 140 kms away from Silvassa.

Rail: Vapi, Gujarat is the nearest railway station at a distance of 25 kms from Silvassa. It can also be approached from either Mumbai, Nashik or Surat.
Air: The nearest major airport is Mumbai in Maharashtra.
