The industrial town of Parwanoo is located on the southern tip of Himachal. This is next to the border with Haryana and the town of Kalka. Parwanoo is where you enter the state of you have taken the broad-gauge train up to Kalka. Parwanoo is set within the low rolling Shiwalik hills and the industrial units are located along the shallow valley floor. All around is fairly dense vegetation. Parwanoo is close to the industrial townships of Baddi, Barotiwala and Nalagarh which are also is Himachal.

Climate: The summer is hot and light cottons are suggested. In winter, the sunny days are pleasant – though the nights are chilly and fairly heavy clothes are required. Through the rest of the year, light woollens/cottons are suggested.

Rail: Kalka is 4 kms away while Chandigarh is at a distance of 32 kms.
Air: Chandigarh airport is at a distance of 35 kms, while the one in Shimla is 95 kms away.
Tourist Attractions in Parwanoo
Pinjore (10 kms) has Mughal style gardens, eating places and outdoor entertainment.
Dagshai (28 kms) is a former cantonment and has an old church.
Kasauli (37 kms) is a small, attractive ‘old-world’ with hill station
Subathu (45 kms) is a historical cantonment with the ‘Gurkha recruiting centre’ and has small church.
Kuthar (53 kms) has an old palace with wall paintings and a couple of small temples.
Nalagarh (41 kms via Pinjore) was once the capital of the princely state with the same name. It has an old well-preserved palace.
