Rajgarh is popularly known as the Peach Valley of Himachal and some of India’s finest stone fruits (peaches, plums and apricots) come from this area. With considerable natural beauty, this is also the base for several trek routes – including one that leads to the Chur Chandni peak.

Getting There & Away: How to reach Rajgarh

Road: Chandigarh is 130 kms, Delhi is 374 kms, Shimla is 96 kms away and Kalka is at a distance of 90 kms.

Rail: Kalka Railway Station is 90 kms away and Chandigarh is 130 kms away. Solan, on the Kalka Shimla Railway line, lies 46 kms away.

Air: Chandigarh airport is at a distance of 133 kms and Shimla airport at Jubarhatti is 118 kms away.


Tourist Attractions in Rajgarh

Thor-math is 17 kms on Baru Sahib road at village Thor-Niwar which has a beautiful temple of 8th century where the youth are given training of KARAM-KAND in Hindu rituals.

Baru Sahib Gurudwara is located at a distance and remote corner of the State and is 26 kms from Nalagarh. This place is situated in beautiful lush Himalayan mountains on the verdant slopes of the Shiwaliks. Rightly, it is called “The Valley of Divine Peace”. Baru Sahib Complex hosts the Sant Attar Singh Hari Sandhu Ashram, Gurudwara Baru Sahib, Akal Charitable Hospital, Akal Academy, Summer Camps Complexx, Sant Attar Singh Memorial Library, Akal Child Welfare Foundation and Akal Home for elderly.

Habban Valley is an enchanting destination and thick pine, fir, kail, ban and deodar forests besides orchards of apples and peaches. It lies 30 kms from Rajgarh.

Haripur Dhar is 56 kms and is famous for ancient temple of Mata Bhangyani Devi, a god sister of Lord Shirgul, the principal deity of the area, whose seat is at Churdhar. On way to Haripurdhar, Nohradhar is 28 kms and is a base for thrkking to Churdhar. There are many trek routes in the valley to Churdhar, like Sailpaw-Dhokhta-Churdhar (7 kms), Jaripurdhar-Churdhar (17 kms), Nohradhar-Churdhar (14 kms), Sarahan-Churdhar (7 kms), Habban-Churdhar (15 kms).

Dolanji Bon Monastery is 28 kms from Nalagarh and known as “Yungdrung Bon Monastery”, being run by Yungdrung Bon Monastic Centre. This was founded in 1969 by the Aboot Lungtog Tenpal Nyima and is located at the distance of about 5 kms from Ochhghat-Narag Road and is 18 kms from Solan town.
